Biography

Anna Lmerka was born 24 Jul 1834 in Jablunce, Moravia to parents Martin and Rosina.

Anna married Josef (Joseph) Volcik about 1854 and came to America in 1870, settling in Fayette County in the Ellinger/Fayetteville area. Anna had either 6 or 8 children; only four sons were alive in 1900:

  • John 1859 - 1943
  • Stepan 1860 - 1933
  • Joseph 1875 - 1964
  • Frank 1877 - 1960

The oldest two sons were born in Moravia, the youngest two in Fayette County. All of the family are buried in the White Cemetery in Highlands, Harris, TX except for John, who is buried in Ellinger, Fayette, TX.

Anna passed away in 1916 and was interred at Sterling-White Cemetery.
