He married Hanorah Browne on August 21, 1843 in Cappoquin, county Waterford, Ireland; the marriage date on the profile should be corrected.
After he enlisted in the U.S. Army, Michael wrote a letter from Ft. Bridger (Utah Territory) to his wife in Ireland. The letter describes his travels and adventures since he left Ireland, probably in the 1850's. I have a copy of the letter. I believe the original is now at the Ft. Bridger historical site in Wyoming.
