Francine Clark was born Francine Juliette Modzelewska on 28 April 1876 in the eighth arrondissement of Paris. She was born to a single mother named Françoise Geneviève Modzelewska. She married Robert Sterling Clark on 23 July 1919 in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.[1] She changed her last name to Clary during her teenage years.[2]
