In the name of God, amen, I Josias Clark of the County of Fairfax and Commonwealth of Virginia being of sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be to Almighty God for his mercy; and knowing and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, I the said Josias Clark do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:
First, I give my soul to God who gave it, my body to the earth from which it came, to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as my executors hereafter named shall see convenient thrusting through the merits of my blessed Savior Jesus Christ to find free pardon for all my sins.
Item, I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my son John Clark deceased, all the property which I gave him and put into his possession in his life time, and nothing more, except what is hereafter directed for them to receive.
I also give and bequeath unto the heirs of Elizabeth Ogdon[sic] deceased (who was the daughter of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Kirby) all the property which I gave her the said Elizabeth Ogden deceased and put into her possession in her life time, and nothing more of any part of my estate.
I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Chloe Stone and her heirs, the property which I have heretofore gave to her and put into her possession, and also one hundred dollars, and nothing more, except that is hereafter directed for her to have.
I also give and bequeath unto the heirs of my daughter Margaret Clarke deceased the property which I gave her and put into her possession in her lifetime and nothing more of any part of my estate, except to my grand daughter Fanny Ogdon[sic] daughter of my said deceased daughter Margaret Clark to whom I give and bequeath seventy five dollars and one cow and calf, also to the said heirs of my said deceased daughter Margaret Clark what is hereafter directed for them to have.
I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Dodson and her heirs, all the property which I have heretofore given her and put into her possession and nothing more except what is hereafter directed for her to have.
I also give and bequeath unto the heirs of my deceased daughter Jane Keene all the property which I gave her and put into her possession in her lifetime and nothing more of any part of my estate whatever.
I also give, bequeath and devise unto my son Josias M Clark my lot of land in Fairfax County being on the stage road near Cameron run, to him and his heirs or assigns forever, also to my said son Josias M Clark and his heirs I give and bequeath four negroes, sizl[?]: little James, Dennis, Alfred and Mariah, also one of my best horses, three cows, and calves, six ewes, all my stock of hogs, my desk and one feather bed and furniture, I also give and bequeath unto my grand son Eli Clark, eighty dollars to be paid him by my executors out of my estate.
Item, It is my Will and desire that the remainder of my estate of every kind not bequeathed and devised be sold to the highest bidder at publick[sic] sale, and the proceeds of the sale to be divided into five equal parts one fifth part of which to be paid to the heirs of my deceased son John Clark; one fifth part to my daughter Chloe Stone; one fifth part to the heirs of my deceased daughter Margaret Clark; one fifth part to my daughter Ann Dodson; and one fifth part to my son Josias M. Clark.
And lastly I make, ordain, Constitute and appoint my son Josias M. Clark, and Josias Clark Executors of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty one.

Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Josias Clark to be his last Will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses in the presence of the testator.

At the Court held for Fairfax County the 15th day of October 1821 This Last Will and testament of Josias Clark deceased was presented in Court by Josias M. Clark and Josias Clark the Executors therein named and the same having been proved by the Oaths of John Compton and Walter Dodson is admitted to record.
