Biography

Ada was born in 1886[1] in Peckham, London, England. She was the daughter of George Robert Clark and Maria Hill and was baptised at All Saints Church in Hatcham Park.[2][3]

In 1891 Ada lived with her family at 21 Weiss Road, Putney, London.[4] By 1901 they had moved to number 11 and Ada worked as a domestic nursemaid.[5]

At the time of the 1911 census, she was working as a domestic housemaid for the Dusgate family at 121 Nightingale Lane, Wandsworth Common, London.[6]

Ada married Frank Bertie Tye in 1930.[7] At the time of the 1939 register, the couple lived at 18 London Road, Epsom. Frank was a jobbing gardener and Ada carried out unpaid domestic duties.[8]

She died in 1943 at the age of 56[9] and was buried in Epsom Cemetery.[10]
