Biography

Ebenezer Clarke (or Clark) was born on 28 Feb 1689, in Rowley, Essex County, in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was the son of John Clarke and Mary Poore.^[1]

Ebenezer married Lydia Dresser in Rowley on 14 Oct 1713.^[2]

His home was actually in Ipswich, close to the Rowley border.^[3] He evidently chose to attend the First Congregational Church in Rowley, where he had his daughter, Mary, baptized on 17 Oct 1714.^[4]

Ebenezer Clark died on 28 Apr 1716, in Rowley.^[5][6][7]

Research Notes

Note on Date of Birth: Either the Rowley Cemetery gravestone is wrong or Ebenezer was born in February of 1688, if he was "in his 29th y." - 28 years old - at the time of his death. If he had been born in February of 1689, he would have turned 27 in February of 1716, and thus been in his 28th year.
