Biography

Ernest Raphael Cilento was born on 28th November 1893 at Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He was the son of Salvadore Gellento and Agnes Ollrich.[1]
Ernest Cilento is an Anzac who served in World War One.

On 16th November 1914, Ernest enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the First World War.[2] He was allocated to the Australian Army Medical Corps, a job definitely not for the faint-hearted. Stretcher-bearers and orderlies saw some of most horrid sights and, as non-combatants, ran into heavy fire to retrieve wounded buddies. Ernest returned to Australia 23rd March 1919.

He married Lois Le Cornu in 1926 at Adelaide.[3] Lois was listed as next of kin on his enlistment below.

He passed away in 1954 at Adelaide. [5]
