Biography

John Thomas Chunn in North Carolina in 1825 to Henry Chunn and Hannah Garrett. As a young boy, his family moved to Maury County, Tennessee. When he was 21, he married Mariah Shires on 18 Mar 1846.^[1] John's sisters, Emily and Sarah had married into the Shires family, marrying brothers, Jacob and Joel, respectively. Mariah was the daughter of of Jacob and Joel's brother David Shires.

I was unable to locate John and Mariah in the 1870 and 1880 census records.

There is a Find A Grave profile for John the gravestone gives his birth as 1819 and his death 1900-2.^[4]
