Biography

Arlene was born in 1942. She was the daughter of Lloyd Chilson and Beatrice Monroe. ^[1] She passed away in 2016.^[2]

Arlene Jeanette (Chilson) Palmer is the 2nd oldest child born to Llyod and Beatrice (Monroe) Chilson. She is considered the oldest, whereas her older brother Lloyd Allan Jr, died before Arlene was even born. She was born in East Douglas not far from where her maternal grandparents lived. ^[3] Arlene had to quit school in the 8th grade to help her mother support the family. Her father Lloyd was a drifter, and he was in and out of her life at a young age. Lloyd finally left the family for good a few months before Arlene's youngest sister Carol was born. ^[3]

in 1962 She meet and fell in love with Judson Himes. They ran away together to Florida in hopes of eloping. ^[4][3] Problem was that Judson was already married with 2 children. ^[3]

Arlene came back to Milford shortly after she left 8 months later her daughter Linda was born. ^[3]

Arlene had her second child about 1965, this son was placed up for adoption immediately after birth. ^[5] Arlene would never tell anyone who the father was. We found out years later that his adopted name is Daniel Baribeau . ^[6]

Arlene Met Joe Palmer sometime in 1966 and they were married 2 Aug 1967 in Milford, Mass. ^[7] Together they had 2 Children. William Francis (Billy) Palmer was born in 1968 and James Walter (Jimmy) Palmer was born in 1972^[6]

Not long after Jimmy was born, Arlene set her mind to study for and receive her GED. She accomplished this goal in 1978. ^[6]

After Arlene and Joe were first married they lived a small cottage in Holliston, MA. After Billy was born, they needed to find a bigger location, they moved to Ashland MA in 1969 when Billy was less than a year old. They rented this large first floor apartment until 1977 when they had finally saved enough money to buy their first (and only) home. ^[6]

Arlene was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer in 2016. She started treatment shortly after diagnosis. Sadly, she passed away on 16 Aug 2016 as the result of a major stroke. My father (Joe Palmer) said the last thing she was doing was laughing as she was trying to reach around to the alarm clock to shut it off. As she shut it off, she collapsed. ^[6]
