Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Ann (Child) Birckhead was a Maryland colonist.

Ann was born about 1682 probably in England. She was the daughter of Henry Child and Ann Ball. The marriage intentions of Ann Child and Solomn Birckhead are recorded among the minutes of West River Monthly Meeting of Quakers on 24th day of the 1st month 1703/04 and 21st day of the 2nd month of 1704.[1]

Anne's relationship to Henry Child is also proved in his will dated 24 JUN 1731 which mentions two of Ann's children by Solomon Birckhead. Both Christopher Birckhead and Anne Birckhead Sharp were left a legacy of 20 shillings.[2]
