Alfred J. Chevrolet was the son of Louis and Suzanne Chevrolet. [1] His father was born in Switzerland, came to America in 1900. His mother was from France and came to America in 1904.
Alfred had a brother Charles Chevrolet who was born in New York in 1907.
The Chevrolet car was named after his father Louis. It was 1911 a year before Alfred's birth when the Chevrolet was first built.
Before Alfred was born the family lived in Baltimore, Maryland. During the 1950s his mother lived at 4713 Balfour in Detroit.
Alfred is buried by his mother.
