Polly (Cheney) Rowley was born on 15 Mar 1786 in Brandon, Rutland, Vermont Republic, daughter of Deacon Edward Cheney (1752–1813) and Abigail (Hale) Cheney (1752–1841).

Polley married Daniel Rowley (born on 23 Apr 1782 in New Canaan, Columbia, NY; son of Joseph Langrell Rowley and Mary (Free Wench) Rowley) on 13 Oct 1805 in Brandon, Rutland, Vermont, United States. Their known children were:
