Vernon was born in 1924. He was the son of Eli Charleston and Ida Rose Allen.
In 1940 he was living with his widowed mother, married sister and a brother in St Louis, Missouri.[1]
Vernon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Private.
By 1950 Vernon had married Marian Katherine Watt and they were living in St Louis with three small chlldren.[2]
According to his obituary, Vernon "was a pioneer in the computer field during the start of that technology. He rose to the level of Chief of Computer Operations at Defense Mapping Agency."
He passed away in 2011 in Missouri.[3] He was buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Lemay, Missouri.[4]
