Jonathan Daniel Charasuchin was born 6 Nov 1914, in Bronx, New York. His parents were Sam Charasuchin and Jennie Buchowitzky ( Sam and Jennie were Russian immigrants of Jewish descent). He married his high school sweetheart Gertrude Bregman 19 June 1938. Jonathan Harris passed away 3 Nov 2002, in Encino, Los Angeles County, California, and is laid to rest in Westwood Memorial Park, Westwood, Los Angeles County, California.[1][2][3][4][5]
He legally changed his name from "Charasuchin" to "Harris" prior to entering college. He and his father fought over this.[6]
College
He attended Fordham University in New York and graduated with a degree in pharmacology.[7][8] After graduation, he did work in some pharmacies in New York City. [8]
Long Acting career
According to IMDB, his acting career spanned fifty years, and his first appearance on television was in an episode of The Chevrolet Tele-Theatre in 1949.[9]
