Bessie (Chaplen) Finch was born in Portsea, Hampshire, England.

Bessie was born in 1897 in Portsea Island, Hampshire, England.^[1][2] She was the daughter of William Chaplen and Elizabeth Jane Savage.

The 1901 England and Wales Census shows Bessie living with her parents and siblings in Havant Street, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.^[3]

The 1911 England and Wales Census shows Bessie still living with her parents and siblings in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England and she was attending school.^[4]

In 1923 Bessie married Arnold Jackman Finch in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.^[5] Arnold was the son of Edwin Finch and Lucy Jackman. He was 24 years old.

Bessie and Arnold had five children.

Bessie passed away in 1988 in Hampshire, England.^[2] She was 91 years old.
