I'm looking forward to working with you on those profiles! I have sent you a private message with details.

For pre-1700 profiles, reliable sources are required. Please be sure to add reliable sources for the profiles you have created - of which three were created just today. Here is some helpful WikiTree documentation: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources

Sarah.
My connection is with James Knowles, who is linked to my 2nd g-grandfather.
This is the tree I refer to: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hopkinson-32 and press 'descendants'
I can follow the links down to Robert Knowles 1787-1855 who married Alice Bradburn Their child Mary E Knowles 1818-1896 married Charles William Witted 1811-1873, who is the 2nd g-grandfather.
Note: I think Alice Bradburn is probably wrong. I have replaced her with Alice Ainsworth which is more probably accurate.
Further up the tree, I come to James Knowles 1616-1677
His son Thomas Knowles married a Grace Walsh, or Welch
They had a son Andrew Knowles 1675-1732 and the problem is. I can't find any Andrew by following down the tree from the tree above. Can you offer any suggestions, please?
The partof my tree I refer to is this: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tree/14502069/family/familyview?cfpid=252248204928

Lovely to meet you.

You have created a lot of unsourced pre-1700 duplicates. Please take extra care when creating profiles of the English Aristocracy as most of them already have a profile - I have proposed merges for the ones I have found this evening. Please contact me if you have any queries about this. Additionally all pre-1700 profiles should be sourced - this is in our Honour Code.
Best wishes, Jo - England Project Managed Profiles team coordinator
I have not been looking after this and have had someone doing it for me. I shall correct this.
Sarah.
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Have fun

Please see our response to your recent G2G comment on the Magna Carta Project join post. We thought that you had joined as an affiliate member previously (Feb 2020) but want to make sure that we don't miss your inquiry.

I received your message and it's good to meet you too! Hope you get results real soon. Kirby native??
I have read comments, and I know for sure and can confirm through DNA that Lovegrove DeCrespigney is correct. I hope that this helps with your research and keep carrying on the good fight!
Thanks for joining the Magna Carta Project as an affiliate member. Just add {Member|Magna Carta Affiliate}} to your profile under the Biography heading, That will add the member sticker to your profile.Just be sure to add another { at the front of the code. I had to remove one to get it to display as code in the comment box.
If you have trouble let me know and I will be glad to help.
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Sources are very important here on Wikitree, especially on Pre-1700 profiles. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too. Find out more about sources here and more detailed info here.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
If you have any questions, click reply below this message and I will get back to you.

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.
I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send a private message.

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.
PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
It's good to have you with us. As you learn your way around, please don't hesitate to ask when it feels like there should be an easier way. My rule of thumb is look for the answer for five minutes, then ask someone. By the time they get back with you, you may have figured it out but they will help clarify and maybe add some nuances.
I hope you are successful in your research and that you find known and unknown cousins on here. See you in the branches,
Debi
PS We have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootsSearch FAQ.
Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:
Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
