Biography

John Cena (/ˈsiːnə/ SEE-nə) is an American actor, rapper and professional wrestler. He has been signed to WWE since 2001, but has performed part-time since 2018. A record 16-time world champion as recognized by WWE,[a] he is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.

John Cena was born in 1977 to John and Carol Cena in West Newbury, Massachusetts, United States. He has one older brother and three younger brothers.

His maternal grandfather is baseball great Tony Lupien . Tony an American first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was a left-handed batter who played for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox.

Cena was attended Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, before transferring to the private prep boarding school Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. He then continued his education at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he was an NCAA Division III All-American center and football team captain.

After leaving college he moved to California in 1998 to attain a bodybuilding career and but diverted his interest to professional wrestling in 1999, making his debut for Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW).

His list of accolades is many in Pro Wrestling but one of his greatest achievements is being the number one all time Wish Granter with Make-a-Wish. He also attends many events for U.S. Soilders.

While still wrestling Cena also began acting and was featured in several films including: The Marine, Transformers: Bumblebee, as Jakob Toretto in the Fast and Furious series, and The Suicide Squade.
