Biography

James was born in 1833. He was the son of James Cattell and Mary Watts.

In the 1841 census James (age 8) was in Congreve'S Yard, Bedworth, Warwickshire, England.^[1]

James arrived in Wellington, New Zealand aboard the ship "London" from the port of Gravesend, England: 2 Jan 1842-1 May 1842 ^[2].

James and Ann Cook married in New Zealand in 1855 ^[3], and had three children together:

1. James Cattell (1856-1934)
2. Charles ^[4]
3. Charles Sidney ^[5]

After Ann (Cook) Cattell died in 1899, he then married Eleanor Rivers in 1890 ^[6], and had three children with her too:

1. Sidney Rivers ^[7]
2. Frank ^[8]
3. Eva Caroline ^[9]

He passed away on the 13th of March 1899 in Wellington, New Zealand ^[10][11], and was buried at Bolton Street Cemetery in Wellington, New Zealand ^[12][13]
