  • The Catlin genealogy, by Roloson, Louise Catlin Cleaver, 1882-1974; Kirchman, Joanne Galbroner; South Brevard Historical Society. Kellersberger Fund. Publication date 1981. [2] page 85 shows the birth of Albertus Wright Catlin; however, there is a typo on his death year; it shows 1913 as the death year, when in reality it is 1933. Another possible mistake is that it shows his birth location as Rome NY, where it is known to be Gowanda, Erie, New York. Shows his parents as Buckley Derrell Catlin, born 1/26/1835, married 2/9/1853 Addie Cook (born 5/23/1875, died 1875) of Coudersport, PA and Portsville, NY. Buckley's parents shown are to be William Catlin (1786-1835) and Sophia Kelly of Potter County, Pennsylvania. William Catlin's parents are shown as Jesse Catlin (son of Sgt. Abraham Catlin); Jesse was born 7/23/1763 at Harwinton, CT; died 1/14/1840. Jesse married Keziah (b. 8/31/1770, died 1834), daughter of Eli and Abigail (Gillette) Dewey (and sister of Rozanna, wife of Elisha Catlin). About 1835 Jesse settled in Charlestown Township, Tioga County, PA coming with two sons, William and Nelson, taking on land northwest of Dartt Settlement on Catlin Hollow Run, where Dexter Catlin erected a mill about 1745 (?).
