Union Township, Licking County, Ohio. The earliest settlers of the township, according to the paper written by Samuel Park, are John VanBuskirk, Benjamin Murphy, Phineas Ford, J. Wayman, Jonathan Benjamin, John and William Horned, George Wells, John Edwards, Alexander Holmes, Bazaleel Wells, James Hendricks, William Wells, William Richardson, John Wagy, James Green, and Henry Owen. About 1803 came Thomas Stone, Philip Smith, Joshua Browning, Mordecai Price, Charles Howard, Nicholas Porter, Martin Lincoln, Henry Horn, Lovel Morris, and Abram Mouser. After that, the population grew rapidly with John Park, Henry Hillibrant, Abraham Stepp, Peter Clem, James Cunningham, Amos and Lewis Farmer, and Samuel and Ephraim Coulter settling in.
