  • Indianola Bay - 1845-1854, Calhoun County, Texas German settlers and Polish settlers entered Texas at this spot. Ships docked there in 1852 (Hurricane blew it away, currently is sand again.

was the primary entry port for European immigrants and Americans landing here to migrate westward. The road westward, north to San Antonio, or to Chihuahua, Mexico was called the Cart Road (this was not a paved road).
