Biography

James was born in 1923, a son of Calvin Herman Case and Della Lee Currie. He passed away in 1982 and is buried in Georgia Memorial Park Marietta, Georgia (Section B - Garden of Life).^[1][2]

He is listed in the 1930 US Census as a boy living with his parents and older sister in Peebles, Ohio: ^[3]

He registered for the WW-II draft in Cedartown, Georgia in Polk County. At the time, he was living at 10 Lee Street in that city, and was unemployed. He listed his mother- Della Lee Case, as the main contact. She was living at 417 Cedar Ave, Rome Georgia.^[5]

He enlisted in the military on 9 Jan 1942 at Ft. McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time, he was single with no dependents, working as a plumber's apprentice, and had a grammar-school education. He went into the US Air Force, where he rose to the enlisted rank of Master Sergeant (E-7).^[6]

He married Mary Sally Southern on 8 Sep 1947 in Cherokee, Alabama. (It is not known if this refers to the city or the county in Georgia).^[7] Together, they had at least six children. Records have been found for five of them mentioned in his wife's obituary; the only unknown/ambiguous one is "Bob Case" of Marietta, Georgia. This may be "Robert Wallace Case" as mentioned as a possible relative in some residence records.

Robert Case is mentioned in the obituary for his wife, published in the Marietta Daily Journal on 16 Jan 2011,^[8][9]
