John Carpenter Carter was Colonel of the 38th Tennessee Infantry Regiment and a Brigadier General of the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Carter was mortally wounded during the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864.[1]
John passed away on December 10, 1864. Final resting place in Rose Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Tennessee.[2]
