In 1843 or 1844, William CARSON II, son of William CARSON I and Susannah UNKNOWN was born in Ireland.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]}

On January 13, 1861, William II, his parents, William I and Susanah and his siblings, Edward, Joseph, Mary and Georgianna were residing on their farm at Sydenham Township, Grey County, Canada West. William was attending school.^[1]
