Biography
Arthur Carrick Snr was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Arthur James Carrick was born in 1872 in Sydney, New South Wales (Australia). He was the fourth son of Thomas Carrick and Selina Hurst. [1]
He obtained work as a clerk in the Government Printing Office.
Arthur married Emily Terry in 1909 in Sydney. [2] The couple subsequently had six children, however, Arthur was retrenched during the Great Depression and the family subsequently evicted from their large 'rambling-style' home in Woollahra. The moved to Randwick before settling at Bondi.
Aged 68 years, he passed away in 1940 in Sydney's southern suburbs. [3]
