From 1897 to 1898, she attended Queen's University, then trained as a nurse in New York.[1] She volunteered at Grenfell’s Medical Mission, Battle Harbour, Labrador. During World War I, she served in England and France as a nursing sister with the Canadian Army Medical Corps. She was awarded the Royal Red Cross 2nd Class on June 21, 1918 for bravery while evacuating patients during hospital bombings at Etaples.[2]
After the war, she worked for the Ontario Provincial Health Department in northern Ontario.
She died in 1964 and was buried at Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, Ontario.[3]
