Biography

Eliza Carr was born in 1850 in Worcester, Worcestershire.[1] Her father is unknown and her mother was Emma Carr.

Eliza married George Alfred Evans in 1867 in Worcester.[2] Eliza and George had thirteen known children:

  • Alice Evans was born on 14 January 1868 in Worcester and baptised about a month later at St. Andrew's.[3][4] After the family moved to Birmingham Alice worked as a pen maker and married Herbert Davies.[5]
  • Rosina Evans was born in 1870 in Worcester.[6] Rosina married Charles Holder.[7]
  • Mary Ann Eliza Evans was born in about 1872 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.[8] She later married Edward Smith.[9]
  • Harriet Evans was born in about 1875 in Birmingham. Harriet married George Thompson.[10]
  • Kate Selina Evans was born in about 1876 in Birmingham.[11] Kate married Henry William Turner.[12]
  • Nellie Evans was born in about 1878 in Birmingham.
  • Florence Evans was born in about 1880 in Birmingham.
  • Amy Evans was born in about 1882 in Birmingham. She worked as a press worker.
  • Lily Evans was born in about 1884 in Birmingham. She also worked as a press worker.
  • George Evans was born in about 1886 in Birmingham.
  • Bertha Evans was born in about 1887 in Birmingham.
  • Frank Evans was born in about 1891 in Birmingham.
