Morgan was christened on 20 Sep 1778 in Redruth, Cornwall, England, the son of "Stepn Carkeek" and Frances. ^[1]

Morgan was a sea captain, and he moved from Cornwall to Swansea, Wales.

Morgan married Mary Abbot; their children included:

• Stephen Carkeek, born 12 Apr 1815 in Swansea, Wales ^[2]
• Mary Elizabeth Carkeek, born 15 Jun 1816 in Swansea, Wales ^[3] Mary Elizabeth died in 1835, and is buried in Swansea.
