John Samuel Captain was born on 07 Aug 1912, in Oklahoma, United States, to Thomas Captain and Florence (Longan) Captain.

From Miami News-Record (Miami, Oklahoma), 30 August 1935:

"Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Stoner, Peoria district, Alex Stoner, and John Captain attended the ball game at Granby, Mo., Sunday, where John Captain pitched the Seneca merchants to a victory over the Granby team, 4-1." [1]

From Miami News-Record (Miami, Oklahoma), 30 August 1935:

"Mrs. John Captain and Miss Florence Gunnels spent Thursday at the home of Mrs. W. L. Bluejacket and Miss Ercell." [2]

From Miami News-Record (Miami, Oklahoma), 30 August 1935:

John Captain III
John S Captain born 8-7-1912 and died June 29th 1949 was married to Cila Pearl Gunnels

and had 4 children. John S Captain Harold Captain Nadine Captain Patrica Captain

He was the son of Thomas Captain and a member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

He and his family moved to Oregon in 1949 and in 1950 was flown back to the Tribe and he died in the St Louis Hospital shortly after. His wife and 4 kids stayed in Oregon after his passing., (See US Army Spraying chemicals on Blacks and Indians in 1950 St Louis MO chemical spraying) He died of Zinc Cadium Sulfite poising at age 36 in Oklahoma
