Norma was born in 1931, daughter of Stuart Capel and Marjorie Philp.

Norma has no brothers or sisters, in fact she was the only child of the three Capel brothers including Cedric and Bill. [1] [2]

William Woods married Norma Capel on 27 September 1952 at Melbourne, Victoria.

They bought in a new estate in Voltri Street, Cheltenham and there raised their 2 children.

Norma was an inaugural employee at Myer, Southland when it opened in September 1968.

She never obtained a driver's licence.

Norma was a member of the V.R.C. and enjoyed going to the races and having a flutter.

Joe and Norma moved into a recently built nursing home in South Oakleigh at the end of 2017 and sold their home in April 2018.

Joe passed away in March 2019, aged 89.

She passed away in 2021 the month before her 90th birthday.
