Driver Stanley Cannon was a prisoner of war during World War II.
Stanley was born in 1905 in Maryhill, now part of the City of Glasgow in Scotland. [1]
Stanley married Sarah Rennie in 1930. [2]
Stanley served in WWII (Private/Driver, 2nd/19th Infantry Battalion) from 21 June 1940. [3] On 15 Feb 1942, he was captured in Singapore and held as a POW in Japan [4], but he survived and was liberated over 3 years later, in Sep 1945.
He died in 1956 at the age of 49. [5]
