James Henry Campbell MM
was born on 24 Oct 1895 in Goondiwindi, Queensland (Australia).
He was the fourth son of Alexander Campbell and Frances McKenzie.

James served in the Australian Imperial Force during The Great War; enlisted 24th June 1915, returned to Australia 13th March 1919.[2] He was a trooper in the 2nd Light Horse Regiment at Gallipoli. He was promoted to Corporal in 1916[3] and was awarded the Miliatry Medal (MM) in 1917, gazetted in London 18th July 1917 on page 7287 at position 30.[4] He was afterward commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the deserts of the Middle East.

James Campbell MM died in military service at Brisbane during the Second World War.
James served his country once more during the Second World War, in the Volunteer Defence Corps; enlisted 3rd February 1942. He was posted as a Warrant Officer Class 2 to the 16th Battalion (QLD) on Brisbane's northern suburbs.[8][9]
He passed away, just a fortnight before his 48th birthday anniversary celebrations, on 12th October 1943 at Queensland.[10]
He was buried in the Lutwyche Cemetery, Kedron, Queensland.[11]
