Biography
Charles came to Western Australia as a prisoner on the Runnymede, arriving on 7 September 1856. He left a wife and two children in England.[1]
He married Eliza Foley on 11 March 1861 at Toodyay.[2]
Charles worked in Toodyay as a butcher, labourer and teamster. He employed eight Ticket of Leave men in 1863 and 1873.[2]
Charles died of hepatitis in Perth on 10 January 1884.[3]
