Biography

Betty was born in 1931.

She married Roy Churcher (-2014)

She studied at the Royal College of Art, London. She completed a Masters at the Courtauld Institute, London.

TV presenter – host of Take Five and Hidden Treasures. Writer – author of The Art of War and Notebooks, The Forgotten Notebook.

She was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 1990 Queen's Birthday Honours List, "for services to the arts, particularly in the field of arts administration and education."^[1]

She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 1996 Queen's Birthday Honours List "In recognition of service to art and to the community as Director of the Australian National Gallery"^[2]

She died in 2015.
