Biography

James Caldwell is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

Sergeant James Caldwell was Killed in Action during World War II.

James was born in 1914 at Adelaide, South Australia, the son of James Caldwell and Olive Cowled.[1][2]

Military Service

On 7 December 1940 James enlisted to the Royal Australian Airforce at Adelaide, South Australia.[3]

On 27 July 1942, whilst in a flying battle over the North Sea of the Atlantic Ocean, James' plane crashed and he was killed.[4] He is memorialized at the Runnymede Memorial and at the Australian War Memorial.[5][6][4]
