If you change your privacy level to 'Private with Public Biography and Family Tree' people not on your Trusted List will be able to see your DNA test information and how you're related to others. Please let me know if I can help. Thanks!

Welcome! We are glad you are here!  Please let Kitty Smith know if you are interested in joining our DNA Project or our FTDNA Project.

If you have not done so, set your Followed preferences to include DNA.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to ‘private w/ public biography & family tree’ to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see  How to DNA on WikiTree

We also encourage you to join our Google+ Community for DNA discussions, questions & new information.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

Lex, do you speak any Portuguese or other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | pt-3 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively and advanced Portuguese, or you could use es-4 to specify near-native Spanish or ru-1 for basic Russian, etc. It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree!

Hello and welcome to WikiTree!

The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.

WikiTree is different from other genealogy websites because our goal is to create one big family tree with ONE PROFILE PER PERSON. This means we all work together on our shared ancestors.

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. It can be a name, like SMITH, or a place, like AUSTRALIA. Be sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button when you finish!

After you volunteer, one of us will be by to confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family!

Hope to see you soon!

Vicky
