Biography

Susannah / Susan Anna Bynum was born on May 20, 1848, in Jackson County, Alabama, her father, John Wesley Bynum, was 36, and her mother, Keziah Stephens, was 36. She had two sons and one daughter with George Asbury Hollingsworth between 1883 and 1888. She died on December 16, 1941, in Zephyr, Brown, Texas, at the age of 93.

Her name Susan Anna Hollingsworth is the spelling engraved on her headstone. In no records is Susannah spelled.

Her birthplace Jackson County, Alabama source is the family was living there in the 1850 census; birthplace Blount County, Alabama is given because her death certificate has Clount, Alabama. Either one could be correct.
