Evelyn Victoria Byers was born in Eganville in 1897. She was the daughter of William Byers and Evaline Campbell. She married Alfred Stone. They came west to Saskatoon in the early 1920s and had resided in Saskatoon since.
The passing of Mrs. Evelyn Stone age 79 years of Oliver Lodge, Saskatoon occurred in a local hospital on Wednesday, May 18th, 1977. Mrs. Stone was a long-time member of Knox United Church and was a very active member of the Knox Church Circle and had been a guest of Oliver Lodge for the past 2 years. Surviving are: two daughters: Mrs. Frank (Helen) Anderson of Winnipeg, Man. and Mrs. Rowlie (Edith) Cooper of Calgary, Alta.; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and two sisters: Mrs. L. D. (Agnes) Haselton of Saskatoon and Mrs. Chris Needham of Milton, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred George Stone, in September 1973. Interment in the family plot in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.[1]
