Biography

Thomas was a member of the Church of England

Thomas was baptised on 2 June 1588. He was the son of Francis Bickley and Amy Mayers.^[1]

Thomas Bickley was educated at Cambridge University, Peterhouse College, and received his Bachelor of Arts 1608-9 and Master of Arts 1612.^[2]

Thomas was the Vicar at Southill between 1622 until 1638.^[3][4][5]

Thomas Bickley, Clerk of Southill, Bedfordshire, left a Will which was proved on 19 November 1640.^[6] In it he mentions his wife, Philadelphia, four daughters and one son. However, they also had two children who died young.^[7][8]

Based on youngest brother Frauncis' Will (click here), Thomas was deceased by 1670 but had two living daughters. Which of his four daughters were deceased by 1670 needs to be researched.

• Need burial record for Thomas - not found as yet.
• Work out who Philadelphia was and when they were married. Note: First child, Elizabeth was baptised on 12 March 1618/19 at St Bride's Church Fleet Street, London, England (and it was also recorded at Southill, Bedfordshire). It is possible she was Philadelphia Conquest, from Southill. This is being researched.^[9]
