Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Presbyterian Church for Lillie Jewell Hickman, a resident of La Plata County since 1925, who died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Four Corners Health Care Center. She was 102. The Rev. Dan Straw will officiate at services. Burial will be at Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield. Mrs. Hickman was born Jan. 16, 1900, in Edwards, Mo. She married Forrest P. Hickman in 1919 at Cross Timbers, Mo. They were married for 76 years. Mrs. Hickman moved to Bayfield in 1925. She was a member of Presbyterian Ladies Aid and Missouri Center Ladies Aid. Mrs. Hickman enjoyed quilting and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest P. Hickman, and a daughter, Judy Mitchell. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hickman and Joanne McCoy, both of Bayfield; two sons, Edison Hickman of Bayfield, and Samuel Hickman of Denver; five granddaughters, Angela C. Lee of Bayfield, Tina M. Hickman of Denver, Kathryn Aliano of Denver, Kay Mays of Kansas City, Kan., and Vicky Meyer of Rochester, N.Y.; two grandsons, Thomas Hickman of Denver and Larry Mitchell of Lincoln, Neb.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
