Biography

Sarah Cornelia was born about 1836, the daughter of Joshua Buttrick and Eliza Hosmer. She married George Barnes in 1860, and they had a son, William Lyman Barnes, born in 1861. George died in 1873. She married Walter Morrison March 4, 1875 in Boston, Massachusetts, however, Walter Morrison remarried in 1893. Some time later, she began using the name Florence Bacon and moved to Sharpsburg, Indiana, where she died July 22, 1919.

During the US Civil War, she worked as a nurse and received a pension for her service.
