John Wesley Butterfield, Jr. was born November 17, 1866, a son to Robert Butterfield and Winona Sly in Ingham Township, Ingham, Michigan, United States.
He married Julia Ann Roch (daughter of Paul Moritz Roch and Susanna Nagel) on [1] April 18, 1897 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States.
They had three children; John Wesley (1898-1974), Robert Ernest (1899-1900) and George Eben (1901-1966) in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.
He passed away at his home on [2] December 16, 1949, in Seattle, Washington.
[3] Webberville was settled in 1837 by Ephraim Meech. It was originally named Phelpstown. In 1850 it was renamed Leroy after Daniel LeRoy the first Attorney General of the state of Michigan. It was renamed Webberville in 1867 when the post office was reestablished since there was another town in Michigan named Leroy.
