Biography

Ann Grace Bushman[1] was born on 31 July 1919,[1][2] in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey,[1] to Paul Hermann Buschman and Matilda Brunjes.[1]

In 1920, Ann was living with her parents and siblings at 235 First Street, Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. Her mother's family was living in the same house. [3]

In 1930, she was living with her parents and siblings at 24 Harmony Street, North Plainfield, Somerset County, New Jersey, which they were renting for $26 a month. They had a radio. She was attending school. [4]

In 1935, she was living in Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey, with her family.[5]

In December 1936, she applied for a social security number. [1]

In 1940, she was living with her parents and siblings at 310 Stebbins Place, Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey, which they were renting for $25 [?] a month. She had finished 3 [?] years of high school, and was not attending school. Anna and her sister Selma were operators (but the industry in which they were operators is illegible on the census). [5]

In 1941, she married Salvatore Manello, in New Jersey. [6] They had two children.[7]

In 1948, she moved to South Plainfield.[7]

In 1950, Salvatore and Ann were living at 315 Sampton Avenue, South Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey, with their children. The week before the census was taken, Salvatore worked 50 hours as a truck driver for a manufacturer of insulative materials. [8]

She died on 8 June 1989, in the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey. On 10 June, she was buried, in Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey. [7] [2]
