Margaret (Busby) Manly has Irish ancestors.

Margaret Busby was born about 1839-1843 in Upper Canada. She was the daughter of James Busby and Sophia Waddell.

In the 1851 census, Margaret (age 9), was living with her father James Busby (age 57, laborer, born Ireland), mother Sophia (age 48, born Ireland), and five older siblings: Robert (24, born Ireland), born Canada: Eliza (20), Ann (18), Sophia (13), Sarah (13), in Wilmot Township, Waterloo, Canada West. They were of Presbyterian faith.^[1]

Margaret (age 22), daughter of James & Sophia, married Charles Manly (age 25) on 15 April 1859 in Perth, Ontario, Canada.^[2] Children to research:

In the 1871 census Margret (age 29) was recorded as married in Ellice, Perth, Ontario, Canada. She was caring for five children on their farm.^[4]

In the 1881 census Margaret (age 38) was married and caring for seven children in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.^[5]

In 1891 Margaret (age 53) was living on their farm with her family in Glendale, Marquette, Manitoba.^[6]

She passed away (age 52) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.^[7] Margaret was mentioned on a memorial in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, Western Manitoba Census Division, Manitoba, Canada with a death date of 20 December 1894.^[8]
