Birth

Anderson W. Busbea Jr., known as A.W., was born on 6 September 1925 in Dardanelle, Arkansas, USA to Anderson W. Busbea and Lelia Reynolds.

Military Service

He enrolled in the United States Marine Corps on 30 November 1943 as a Private and was in the Sixth Recruit Battalion, Training Regiment, Recruit Depot, Marine Corps Base, San Diego, California in January 1944.

In April 1945, Private First Class Busbea was with the Second Battalion, Twenty-Third Marines, Fourth Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force with a FPO address which means he was shipped out.

Corporal Busbea was discharged at the Separation Center, USNTC, Great Lake, Illinois in April 1946.

He seems to have gone back in because there is a July 1950 Muster Roll showing Corporal Busbea to be at Headquarters Company, 15th Infantry Batallion in Little Rock, Arkansas. In January 1951 Cpl. Busbea was in the Unit Service Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine 1st Marine Division, MRI Pearl.

Marriage and Family

He married Mamie Winfrey c. 1943 because his obituary states that they had been married for 70 years.

He was retired from the North Little Rock Fire Department and was a veteran of Division I and IV of the United States Marine Corps. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. A.W. was past president of the John Yancy Chosin Few. He was a member of Amboy United Methodist Church.

Death and Burial
