John was born in 1867. He was the son of Thomas Bursey and Sarah Paul.^[1][2]

John married Jane Golden (aka Goulding) in 1889.^[3]

He married Emma Oldford in 1901.^[4]

Research Notes

John's late birth registration (at about 74 years old in 1943 by Alexander Pritchett, who claimed to know him for "near 50 years") gives his birth date as 1 May 1868. However, his baptism took place in 1867 and records his birth date as 1 May 1867.
