Marion Evelyn Burrows was born on 10 March 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents Evelyn Davis and Robert Burrows.
In 1940 she was 17 years old and living with her mother and six younger siblings in New Orleans.[1]
On 22 May 1944 she married Joseph Elliott Chineworth in Alabama City, Etowah County, Alabama.[2] Joseph was soon deployed to Europe with the 100th Fighter Squadron of the 332nd Fighter Group of the Army Air Force, as one of the pilots who later became known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
After the war Joseph and Marion raised three sons: Joseph Jr, Michael, and Mark. In the 1950 census the couple were living in Chicago with their oldest son. Joseph was working as a material clerk for a rural electrification project.[3]
Marion Evelyn (Burrows) Chineworth passed away on 28 September 2012 and was buried at Rock Island National Cemetery with her husband.[4]
