Biography
The Old Parish Register indices for Banchory-Ternan, Kincardineshire, give the marriage date as the 11th October, with Banns having been called in Edinburgh parish on 23rd September 1722, indicating that one of the parties was usually resident there, doubtless the groom. In the Edinburgh Parish Registers - Marriages - this Jean is stated to be "sister of Sir Alexander Burnet of Leys, baronet. George Lauder is referred to as a "merchant in south east parish."
