Gisele was the first wife of Gérold, Comte de Genève. [1]
The primary source which confirms her marriage has not yet been identified, however a family relationship is indicated between Rudolf von Rheinfelden King of Germany and Géraud Comte de Genève. [2]
This relationship is based on the rarely used term sororinus. Hlawitschka concluded that "sister's husband" is the most likely interpretation. Guichenon called Gisele the nièce of Rodolphe, who was actually her brother, however this was based on his translation of the Annales de St. Gallen[3] which refers to the attack of her husband Géraud's army.
