Eula Maye Burden was born on 2 Sep 1901 in Hamilton County, Texas. She was the daughter of John Wesley Burden and Dora Agee. Eula passed away in Clark County, Arkansas on 31 Jan 1982 and was buried in the Antoine Cemetery, Antoine, Arkansas.^[7][8][9]

1910 Census: Eula Burden is living with her parents, J. W. (44) and Dora (43) Burden, in rural Hamilton County, Texas where her father is a farmer. The record notes that Eula was 10 years old and that she had been born in Texas. Eula's siblings H. A. (21), Delia (17), Mattie (15), Emma (13), Gracie (7), Luther (5), Arthur (5), and Stella (3) also reside in the home. The record is annotated to show that Luther and Author are twins.^[10][11]

8 Feb 1920: Miss Eula Maye Burden and Cleo D. Elkins are married in Erath County, Texas.^[12][13]

1 Dec 1920: A daughter, Marsha Maxine Elkins is born to Eula and Cleo in Duffin, Texas. ^[14]

1930 Census: Eula M. Meeks (28) and her husband Earl D. Meeks (22) are living in Dallas, Texas. The record shows that Eula was born in Texas. Eua's 9 year old daughter, Maxine Elkries (sic), from her marriage to Cleo Elkins is also listed as a member of the household.^[15][16]
